What is amount in words — spelling a sum in documents
Amount in words: why contracts repeat figures as text, cents and currency, online converter.
Spelling a sum in words duplicates the figure so a one-digit edit in an act is visible. You usually write the major and minor units: one hundred dollars and 50 cents.
Cent rounding must carry 100 cents into the next dollar. A minus is a debt and must not be stripped on input. ToolsHelper rounds half-up, keeps the sign and scales to a quadrillion.
Pick the currency in the selector. Yen has no minor unit and rounds to whole yen. For an invoice still check a lawyer’s template: the tool computes, it does not replace the form.
An amount in words is the number spelled out so a digit cannot be altered unnoticed. Currency names decline with the number in Russian and stay fixed in English. The fractional part is usually two digits and its own noun. This page defines the line you see on a contract. The converter spells a number you type.
